India gives Meta 3-day ultimatum over Modi video removal

India gives Meta 3-day ultimatum over Modi video removal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the leader of India, a very big country.

He made a video post on Facebook to talk to students.

Facebook took that video down for a little while.

The Indian government was not happy about this.

They think Facebook made a mistake and treated India's leader unfairly.

Government leaders told Meta, the company that owns Facebook, to say sorry to the Prime Minister.

Meta has three days to apologize.

If it does not, the government might change a special rule that protects Facebook from getting in trouble for what people post.

Meta says it already has its own careful rules for checking content.

More meetings about this will happen on August 6.
