Tesla to fix software for millions of vehicles in China

Tesla is going to update software in millions of cars in China.

One recall covers about 2.98 million cars made in China or brought into China from elsewhere.

These cars include the Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X. After a serious crash, people might have trouble finding the emergency door handles if the electrical system stops working.

Tesla will add warning labels and make the windows lower automatically after a collision.

A second recall covers about 2.74 million China-made Model 3 and Model Y cars.

That update will better check whether drivers are paying attention when using driving-assistance features.

The changes are intended to help people escape after crashes and reduce collisions.
