Mithun Chakraborty Named Bengal Government Cultural Advisor
West Bengal plans to build a large film and culture centre in New Town.
The centre will be named the Uttam Kumar Film Centre.

The announcement came at the foundation stone ceremony for the Uttam Kumar Film Centre in New Town.
The film centre will cost Rs 25 crore and be modeled on Kolkata’s Nandan Cultural Centre.
The planned facility will include cinemas, an auditorium, an open-air theatre, laboratories, studios, and other amenities.
The government said industry experts will finalize the centre’s design and select Tollywood figures for upcoming honours.
