Opposition MPs Protest Outside Parliament Over Ram Temple Donations
A group of opposition lawmakers, led by Pappu Yadav, put on a short play outside the Indian Parliament.
They wore saffron robes and used donation boxes to say the Ram Temple in Ayodhya was stealing money.
The protest was seen as a way to accuse the temple of theft.
Hindu leaders, like Surendra Jain and Jitendranand Saraswati, said the protest hurt Hindu feelings and called for the MPs to be expelled.
They also threatened legal action and asked for an apology.
The protest sparked a big disagreement between the lawmakers and the Hindu groups.
Opposition MPs, including Pappu Yadav, staged a skit outside Parliament’s Makar Dwar, using saffron robes and donation boxes to accuse the Ram Temple of misappropriating funds.
The protest involved Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and other Congress and Samajwadi Party MPs, who allegedly slipped money into the boxes.
Hindu organizations such as the Vishva Hindu Parishad and Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti condemned the demonstration as an insult to Hindu faith.
Surendra Jain and Jitendranand Saraswati called for the Lok Sabha speaker to expel the MPs and threatened legal action.
The protest was said to be a “skit” and has sparked calls for an unconditional apology from the involved MPs.
