112 BMC Officials Still Employed Amid Corruption Cases
A big city in India, Mumbai, has a municipal corporation called BMC.
A government request showed that 207 people working for BMC were accused of corruption.
Of those, 112 are still working, 68 retired before the case was finished, and only 27 were suspended.
The oldest case is from 2005 and some cases have been waiting for more than 20 years.

During the COVID‑19 pandemic, 43 people who had been suspended were brought back to work, but the BMC did not say who they were.
