Razorpay Secures RBI Licence for Offline Payments
Razorpay, a fintech company, has received a special licence from the Reserve Bank of India.
This licence allows them to help businesses accept payments in physical stores.
With this, Razorpay now has three important licences: one for online payments, one for in-store payments, and one for international payments.
They also bought a company called Ezetap to help with in-store payments.
Razorpay offers different devices like smart POS machines to make payments easier for businesses.
This licence will help them support more businesses in accepting payments in their stores.
The company announced this on January 22, 2026.
Razorpay POS secured the Payment Aggregator – Physical (PA-P) licence from the RBI.
This licence allows Razorpay to act as an offline payment aggregator for in-store transactions.
Razorpay now holds three major RBI licences: PA-O, PA-P, and PA-CB.
The PA-P licence will enhance Razorpay's in-store payment infrastructure, supporting high-volume transactions across various segments.
Razorpay acquired Ezetap in August 2022 to expand into India's offline payment system.
