UP Tops Business-Friendly States List
Uttar Pradesh has been ranked as the top state in India for making business operations easier.
The state has fully implemented 23 important reforms suggested by the central government.
These reforms cover areas like land use, building construction, labour laws, and utilities.
For example, they made it easier to change land use, reduced the time needed for building approvals, and allowed women to work at night in factories.
They also simplified getting electricity and water connections.
Additionally, the state government has approved new incentives for companies investing in the semiconductor industry, including interest subsidies, GST exemptions, and power tariff subsidies.
These measures aim to attract global companies and create jobs.
The government has also extended the facility of gift deeds to industrial and commercial properties, allowing registration in the names of relatives by paying a nominal stamp duty of Rs 5,000.
Uttar Pradesh ranked first in implementing 23 priority reforms for business operations.
Reforms cover land, building, labour, utilities, and permissions sectors.
Land reforms include flexible zoning, digitised land-use change, and rationalised road width norms.
Building reforms include amended regulations, third-party approvals, and online certificates.
