New Zealand Eases Visa Rules for Skilled Workers, Students
The New Zealand government is making it easier for skilled workers and international students to get permanent residency.
New pathways are being created for skilled workers and those in trades, which require a certain level of experience and wage.
The new rules acknowledge practical skills.
International students with New Zealand qualifications will also find it easier to stay.
This is part of a plan to grow the economy by bringing in and keeping skilled people.
New Skilled Migrant Category (SMC) Resident Visa changes announced.
Two new pathways: Skilled Work Experience and Trades & Technician.
Skilled workers need 5+ years experience; technicians 4+ years.
