Kannauj Students Boycott Classes Over Discrimination, Tree-Felling Complaint

Hundreds of students at a government school in Gugarapur stopped attending classes for a while.

They protested against their principal.

The students said they faced alleged caste discrimination.

They also objected to trees being cut down on the school campus.

Some students surrounded the principal’s vehicle as he was leaving.

Police and education officials came to the school.

Officials spoke with the students and their parents.

Classes started again after the district education officer calmed the situation.

The complaints are now being investigated.
