Small Savings Rates Unchanged for July–September 2026 Quarter

The government checks the interest rates for small savings plans every three months.

For July to September 2026, it decided not to change the rates.

The Public Provident Fund, or PPF, will continue to pay 7.1% interest.

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and the Senior Citizens Savings Scheme will continue to pay 8.2%.

Other plans, such as the National Savings Certificate and Kisan Vikas Patra, also keep their existing rates.

These schemes are popular because they offer predictable returns and are backed by the government.

Some plans also provide tax benefits under applicable rules.

The government considers bond yields, market conditions and geopolitical conditions when reviewing the rates.
