Himachal Limits Road Contracts to 2 per Contractor
The government of Himachal Pradesh has decided that no road builder can work on more than two roads at the same time.
This is to make sure they do a good job.
They also stopped five road projects because the work was not up to standard.
There are 57 roads being built in Kangra district, and some of them are being built using a special method called Full Depth Reclamation (FDR).
The government is also trying to make sure payments to builders are made on time.
They want to help local builders by giving them more chances to work on these projects.
Himachal Pradesh PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh announced a limit of two road construction projects per contractor.
Five PMGSY Phase 3 contracts were terminated due to poor quality and below-prescribed standards.
A detailed inquiry has been ordered into the poor construction of four roads in Kangra district.
Out of 57 roads under construction in Kangra, 27 are being built using the FDR technique.
The department is closely monitoring the progress of each project to ensure timely completion.
