Ex-CEC Rawat Questions Delayed Response to Alleged Election Commission Rift

Former Election Commissioner Rawat commented on an alleged disagreement within the Election Commission.

He questioned why two commissioners waited ten months before speaking publicly.

Rawat said commissioners can speak out if they believe something wrong is happening.

He said the Election Commission is independent.

He referred to a court ruling about EVMs used at 50 polling stations.

The court cancelled the election in those stations and ordered new voting with paper ballots.

Rawat also criticized changes to Form 6.

He described those changes as wrong, improper, and illegal.
