Earn While You Learn: Part-Time Jobs Abroad for Students

Many students travel to other countries to study at university.

While they are learning, they can take small jobs to earn money.

Their special student visas say exactly how many hours they may work.

In the US, students can work about 20 hours each week.

In the UK, they can also work up to 20 hours during school time and full-time during holidays.

Canada lets students work 24 hours each week.

Australia lets them work 48 hours every two weeks.

Germany lets them work 140 full days or 280 half-days each year.

Some jobs pay more than others, like tutoring or helping teachers, which can earn more than serving food.

The money helps pay for groceries, transport and phone bills, and the jobs build résumé skills.
