Pakistan Backs Saudi Arabia After Houthi Attacks Threaten Energy

Pakistan said it supports Saudi Arabia after attacks linked to the Houthis.

Pakistan’s prime minister spoke with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman by phone.

He condemned attacks on Saudi homes, public buildings and energy facilities.

Saudi officials said one projectile injured two people and damaged several buildings, including a mosque.

Saudi Arabia also temporarily closed an important oil pipeline after a drone attack launched from Iraq.

Pakistan warned that more attacks could hurt peace in the region and energy supplies around the world.

Pakistan’s leaders said they would keep working to lower tensions.

The two countries agreed to stay in close contact.

Their statements also renewed attention on a mutual-defence agreement involving Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye.
