Cubs' Cade Horton Injured; Out for Playoffs
Imagine a baseball player named Cade who throws the ball really well for the Chicago Cubs.
Sadly, Cade hurt his ribs and can't play in the playoffs.
He was put on the injured list.
This means he needs time to heal.
Because of his injury, the Cubs' pitching team will be missing an important player, especially after another pitcher, Justin Steele, is also out.
The team will now use other pitchers to try and win the games.
Cade Horton, Cubs pitcher, has a right rib fracture.
He's on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to September 25, 2025.
Horton is unlikely to play in the National League Division Series (NLDS).
His injury occurred during a September 23 start due to side soreness.
The Cubs' pitching rotation will depend on other pitchers due to Horton's injury and Justin Steele's absence.
