I.N.D.I.A. Plans Nationwide Protests Over Alleged Vote Theft

The I.N.D.I.A. opposition alliance says some elections may have involved stolen or manipulated votes.

It plans protests across India starting October 2.

The alliance will organize marches in districts and several large rallies.

Opposition lawmakers also plan to march to the Election Commission on October 6.

The group wants Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign or be removed.

It also wants electronic voting machines replaced with paper ballots.

Opposition leaders may ask the Supreme Court to examine election-related issues.

They say these actions are needed to protect democracy and the Constitution.
