Delhi to Issue Property Aadhaar Cards Under 2026 Bill
Delhi is planning a new law that will look at every house, shop and building in the city.
Using drones, the government will map each property and give it a special card called a Property Aadhaar Card.
This card will keep a digital record of who owns the property and other details.
The plan started with a pilot in 30 villages and will now cover the whole city.
The goal is to make buying, selling and borrowing money easier and to stop property disputes.
The law will be approved by the Delhi Cabinet and passed in a special meeting of the Assembly.
Once it is in place, every property will have a clear, digital identity.
Delhi will introduce a 2026 land‑records bill that surveys every property and issues a unique Property Aadhaar Card.
The bill covers residential, commercial and other properties, creating a digital record for every floor of multi‑storey buildings.
A pilot under the central SVAMITVA scheme mapped 30 rural villages using drones, and Delhi will build on that experience.
The Survey of India will provide technical assistance, and the records will be linked to welfare and health schemes.
The bill is expected to be approved by the Cabinet and passed in a special Assembly session, aiming to reduce disputes and improve transparency.
