Retired Army Serviceman Killed by Banned Chinese Manjha in Jammu

A retired army serviceman named Lakhwinder Singh was riding home on a two-wheeler.

He had finished his job as a private security guard.

In Bishnah, a sharp kite string became wrapped around his neck.

The string cut his throat and badly injured him.

He was taken to a hospital but could not survive.

The string is called Chinese manjha or Gattu Dor.

It is made from nylon and covered with materials that make it very sharp.

Jammu authorities have banned making, selling, storing, transporting and using it.

Police are investigating and raiding sellers, while Singh’s relatives want stronger action.
