Guntur Neurosurgeon's Research Recognized by Three Societies at Spine Congress

A clever doctor in India shared his research with other doctors at a big meeting about spine surgery.

His name is Dr. Mohana Rao Patibandla, and he works at Dr. Rao's Hospital in the city of Guntur.

His research is about a very tricky part of the body where the skull meets the spine, called the craniovertebral junction.

He found a way to help some patients with problems there using very small cuts, so the surgery is less scary and less painful.

Three different groups of spine doctors looked at his work carefully.

They were so impressed that they gave his research special recognition.

The doctors said it is rare for three independent groups to honour one study at a single meeting.

Dr. Rao says research helps doctors learn how to take better care of patients in the future.

The recognition shows that doctors from Indian regional hospitals can help scientists all over the world learn new things.
