Suryapet farmers protest frequent power cuts, demand 12-hour supply

Some farmers live in a place called Palakeedu.

They grow crops and need water to make them grow.

There has not been much rain, so the farmers use machines called pumps to pull water from wells.

These pumps need electricity to work.

But the electricity keeps turning off, again and again.

When the power goes off, the pumps stop and the crops do not get water.

Some pumping motors also break because the electricity is too weak.

The farmers were upset, so they went to protest at the local power building.

They asked for good electricity for 12 hours every day.

They said they would protest even more if the problem is not fixed.
