FSSAI Issues Over 150 Notices in Food Safety Crackdown

India’s food regulator, called FSSAI, has taken action against many food businesses.

It sent more than 150 notices because of alleged problems with advertisements, product claims and labels.

Some products were seized during the enforcement drive.

Restaurants and food-service businesses, including major chains, also received notices.

Five Domino’s outlet licences were suspended.

More than 20 five-star hotels were cited over menu and calorie information.

Amazon and Flipkart received notices, and one Amazon warehouse licence was cancelled.

Several companies have started making corrections after receiving the notices.
