11 Arrested for Attacking Bengaluru Officials During Footpath Drive

Eleven people were arrested for attacking officials in Bengaluru who were trying to clear footpaths.

The officials were part of a team sent to enforce a Supreme Court ruling that ensures pedestrians have safe, unobstructed footpaths.

The attackers dragged one official onto the road and pepper-sprayed another.

The main accused, Basavaraj Pudukote, is the state president of Namma Karnataka Sene.

The government is taking strict action, including invoking the Goonda Act against him.

The attackers are described as anti-social elements, not vendors defending their livelihood.

The police commissioner said such incidents are unacceptable and that anyone with objections should approach the court.
