Odisha Approves Heritage Development Scheme
The Odisha government has approved a new scheme called Baraputra Aitihya Gram Yojana.
This scheme will develop the birthplaces of famous Odisha personalities like freedom fighters, poets, and social reformers.
The government will spend Rs 345 crore to create heritage museums, parks, and other facilities at these sites.
In the first phase, 25 birthplaces will be developed.
The government also approved other schemes for teachers' recruitment, irrigation projects, and upgrading ITIs.
They will also pay for smart meters in homes.
This is to preserve history, promote culture, and help local communities.
Odisha government approved the Baraputra Aitihya Gram Yojana to develop birthplaces of eminent personalities.
Rs 345 crore allocated for the first phase, covering 25 sites with up to Rs 15 crore per site.
Infrastructure includes heritage museums, interpretation centers, libraries, conference halls, open-air theatres, children’s parks, statues, memorials, and local product outlets.
Other approvals include uniform reservation for teachers, irrigation projects worth Rs 534 crore, and the Utkarsh ITI Yojana for Rs 500 crore over three years.
Government to bear Rs 735 crore for one year’s rent on smart meters for domestic consumers.
