Income Disparities: Goa Leads, Bihar Trails in India
Imagine how much money each person would have if everyone in their state split all the money made in that state.
In India, some states like Goa have lots of money per person, around Rs 3.57 lakh!
Others, like Bihar, have much less, only about Rs 32,227 per person.
Even though the average income for the whole country is growing, some states are still far behind.
The government says they want to help everyone, so all states can grow together.
Goa had the highest per capita income in India in FY24, at Rs 3.57 lakh.
Bihar had the lowest per capita income in FY24, at Rs 32,227.
The per capita net national income at constant prices for 2024–25 is Rs 114,710.
There is a significant gap in per capita income between different states and UTs.
The government is committed to inclusive development.
