Russia Attacks Ukraine After Peace Talks
Russia attacked Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine early in the morning on December 23.
This happened just a few days after peace talks in Miami ended.
The attack killed at least three people, including a child, and caused widespread power outages.
Ukraine and its allies, including Poland, are working to defend against the attack.
The peace talks were led by the United States, and Russia has demanded that Ukraine give up some of its territory and limit its military capabilities.
Russia launched an early morning air attack on Kyiv and western Ukraine on December 23.
The attack occurred days after a U.S.-led round of peace talks in Miami ended.
At least three people, including a child, were killed, and widespread power outages occurred.
Ukrainian air defense forces and Polish and allied aircraft were scrambled to ensure the safety of Ukrainian and Polish airspace.
Russia has demanded that Ukraine cede its eastern Donbas region and significantly restrict its military capabilities before it stops fighting, terms which Zelenskiy has rejected.
