Army Honors Kargil Martyrs with Sacred Soil

Army Honors Kargil Martyrs with Sacred Soil

The Indian Army recently honored the families of soldiers who died in the Kargil War by giving them soil from the battlefields where their loved ones fought.

This happened on the 27th anniversary of India's victory in the Kargil War, known as Kargil Vijay Diwas.

The soil was collected from different battlefields and presented in a special ceremony at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass.

Families were deeply moved as they received the soil, which connected them to the places where their fathers, husbands, and sons had made the ultimate sacrifice.

Earlier, a group of 30 motorcyclists carried an urn of sacred soil from New Delhi to Drass, symbolizing the nation's enduring bond with its fallen heroes.

The Kargil War was a fierce battle fought at high altitudes, and the soil presentation is a way to remember and honor the bravery of the soldiers.
