Delhi Congress Demands Probe into MCD Corruption Allegations
The Delhi Congress chief, Devender Yadav, says that the MCD lost a lot of money due to problems in how it collected taxes in 2022-23.
He wants a retired judge to investigate this.
The audit showed that the MCD lost money because it didn't collect fees properly and didn't manage advertising income well.
Yadav points out that both the AAP, who were in charge recently, and the BJP, who were in charge before, are responsible.
He says that the audit uncovered corruption in many parts of the Delhi government.
Essentially, there are claims of financial mismanagement and calls for an inquiry into the matter.
Delhi Congress chief alleges a Rs 312 crore revenue loss in MCD due to irregularities in tax collection during 2022-23.
Devender Yadav demands Lieutenant Governor investigate alleged corruption in the MCD by a retired High Court judge.
The audit report reveals losses from non-collection of user charges, improper revenue collection from advertising, and non-compliance of bylaws.
Yadav blames both AAP, who was in power, and BJP, who ruled 15 years ago for the losses.
The Congress leader claims that corruption was exposed in the audit report across various Delhi government departments.
