PPA Tour Unveils Unified World Pickleball Rankings System
Pickleball is a fun sport where players hit a plastic ball with paddles.
The PPA Tour organizes professional pickleball games.
It just announced a brand new way to decide who the best players are.
The new system is called the World Pickleball Rankings.
It starts with the 2026-27 season.
Before, players were ranked separately for each type of game.
Now, all the different game types become one single score.
Doubles games count the most, at 50 percent.
Mixed doubles count for 35 percent and singles for 15 percent.
A player's best 14 games over the last 52 weeks are used for the score.
The PPA Tour launched the World Pickleball Rankings, a single unified global ranking system.
The new system debuts with the 2026-27 season.
It replaces separate discipline-specific rankings with one composite score combining all three disciplines.
Men's or women's doubles accounts for 50% of a player's ranking, mixed doubles 35%, and singles 15%.
A player's best 14 results from the trailing 52 weeks determine their overall ranking.
