Protests Erupt at Peshawar University Over Student Disappearances
Students and human rights groups in Pakistan are very upset and protesting because several students and a teacher have gone missing.
Two students from the University of Peshawar disappeared after a meeting on November 12.
More recently, in December, other students and a teacher from Balochistan were taken by security forces.
People are protesting and asking for these students and the teacher to be found and brought back safely.
They also want the government to be more open and investigate these disappearances.
It's a very serious situation, and many people are worried about the safety of students and teachers in Pakistan.
Protests continue at the University of Peshawar demanding the recovery of two missing students, Khubaib Wazir and Adnan Wazir, who disappeared on November 12.
In Balochistan, several students and a lecturer, Balach Khan Bali, have been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces in December.
Human rights organizations, including Paank and Baloch Voice for Justice, have condemned these disappearances and called for investigations.
Protesters at Peshawar University have boycotted classes and shut down campus facilities to demand action.
The disappearances are part of a broader pattern of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, with at least three civilians, including two students, reported missing in December.
