WPL 2026 Set to Start Early January
The Women's Premier League (WPL) for 2026 will begin earlier than usual, likely in early January.
This is to avoid clashing with the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
The teams will be the same as the past seasons.
The WPL aims to follow formats of other women's leagues.
There will be a major auction and the board may add more locations.
The Mumbai Indians, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, are the current champions.
The WPL 2026 is expected to start on January 6 or 8.
The league will not take place in its usual February–March slot.
The same five teams will compete in the fourth edition.
There will be 22 matches, ending in early February 2026.
The BCCI is considering adding more locations for the competition.
