CBI Arrests Roop Singh After Long Absence in 1998 Case

The CBI arrested Roop Singh in an old case involving missing goods.

The goods included ghee and mung and were worth about ₹9 lakh.

The alleged incident happened in Maharashtra in 1998.

Investigators said the goods were supposed to be delivered to another party.

The Bombay High Court later ordered the CBI to investigate the case.

The CBI filed charges against four people in 2003.

Roop Singh did not appear for the trial and was declared a proclaimed offender in 2010.

The CBI says his arrest is an important step in bringing the accused before the court.
