India’s New-Age Economy Projected to Reach $300 Billion by FY31
India has many newer companies built around technology, digital services, artificial intelligence, and new ideas.
Their combined revenue was about $33 billion in FY22.
A report says it could reach about $100 billion in FY26 and $300 billion by FY31.
Consumer goods, retail, and leisure are expected to make up nearly half of the total.
Technology, media, telecom, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing are also expected to grow quickly.
These companies together made a profit of $1.4 billion in FY25.
However, most of that profit came from banking, financial services, and insurance.
Online shopping and quick-delivery services are helping brands grow faster than before.
Growing beyond ₹500 crore is still hard because companies need strong stores, distribution networks, and working capital.
India’s domestic new-age companies are projected to grow from $100 billion in FY26 revenue to $300 billion by FY31.
Revenue has risen from $33 billion in FY22, with annual growth expected to remain around 25% through FY31.
Consumer goods, retail, and leisure could generate $150 billion by FY31, while technology-led sectors are expected to grow about 26% annually.
The sector’s collective profit pool turned positive at $1.4 billion in FY25, but BFSI accounted for 140% of that total, leaving other sectors collectively loss-making.
D2C and quick-commerce channels are helping consumer brands reach ₹100 crore and ₹500 crore revenue milestones faster, although larger-scale expansion remains difficult.
