Young Doctor’s Selfless Service Remembered After 2008 Bihar Flood Death

Chandrakant Patil was a young doctor who wanted to help people in trouble.

In 2008, severe floods affected parts of Bihar.

After his 24th birthday, he went there with a medical team from Maharashtra.

He treated people at relief camps.

One day, he learned that a pregnant woman had died before he could help her.

He then decided to stay at the camp so he could reach patients more quickly.

Chandrakant was later struck by lightning and died while doing his work.

His parents say doctors should help everyone equally, no matter their religion, caste, or wealth.

People he treated still remember him today.
