Glasgow 2026 Medals Feature Braille for Inclusivity

Glasgow 2026 Medals Feature Braille for Inclusivity

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games will have special medals with braille and tactile features for the first time.

This makes the medals accessible to visually impaired athletes.

The medals are shaped like a Reuleaux triangle, inspired by Glasgow's coat of arms.

They also have patterns from the Finnieston Crane and a textured finish like Scottish tartan.

The designer, Militsa Milenkova, wanted the medals to represent Glasgow's identity and be inclusive.

There will be 215 gold medals in total, with 47 for Para sports, making it the biggest Para programme in Commonwealth Games history.
