East Godavari Sets 4 LMT Target for Kharif Paddy Procurement
The government in East Godavari wants to buy a lot of rice from farmers this season, aiming for 4 lakh metric tons.
So far, they've bought over 27,000 tons from nearly 4,000 farmers.
Farmers get paid quickly, within two days, and the money goes straight to their bank accounts.
The government is also helping with things like gunny bags and making sure there are places to sell the rice.
They're telling farmers to make sure the rice is dry before they bring it.
If farmers have any questions or problems, there's a special phone number they can call.
The prices the government is paying are set by the Minimum Support Price, which is like a guaranteed good price for the farmers.
East Godavari district has set a Kharif paddy procurement target of 4 lakh metric tonnes for 2025-26.
As of November 14, over 27,616 metric tonnes of paddy have been procured from 3,695 farmers.
Payments totaling ₹56.84 crore have been credited to 3,191 farmers' accounts within 48 hours.
Farmers are advised to ensure paddy has a moisture level of 17% before bringing it to procurement centers.
Minimum Support Prices are ₹2,389/quintal for common variety and ₹2,369/quintal for Grade-A paddy, with additional payments for bags and labor.
