Mumbai BMC Hospitals Face Scrutiny Over Patient Care

Officials inspected three Mumbai hospitals after concerns about patient care.

At Rajawadi Hospital, three newborn deaths were reported on the same day.

The hospital said two babies had died before birth and a third died about two hours after a C-section delivery.

It also said the patients arrived late for treatment.

Harish Bhandirge told officials to provide emergency care quickly and follow medical rules.

Mayor Ritu Tawde checked the Jogeshwari Trauma Care Hospital and spoke with patients.

She ordered better food and asked for more staff and full-time neurosurgery doctors.

Amit Satam separately asked for better-trained staff and improved facilities at Cooper Hospital.
