Ashwin urges India to give Sarfaraz Khan clarity on Test future
Sarfaraz Khan is a cricket player for India.
He plays Test matches, which are very long games.
Since he started, he has played six Tests and scored 371 runs, which is quite good.
He even scored a hundred and three fifties.
But after a big tour in Australia, he was suddenly taken out of the team.
Last week, he was asked to come back for a series in Sri Lanka.
He might get to play on Saturday in a city called Galle.
A famous spin bowler, R Ashwin, said the team leaders should talk to Sarfaraz.
They should tell him if he is part of their future plans.
That way, he won't waste time wondering about his place in the team.
Sarfaraz Khan has played six Tests since his debut, scoring 371 runs at 37.10 with a century and three fifties.
He was abruptly dropped from India's Test squad after the 2024-25 Border Gavaskar Trophy tour to Australia.
He returned to the side last week as a replacement for Sai Sudharsan ahead of the two-match series in Sri Lanka.
He is competing with Dhruv Jurel for a spot in the XI ahead of Saturday's first Test in Galle.
R Ashwin said India's team management must hold talks with Sarfaraz about his future if he is not in their plans for certain conditions.
