Rahul Gandhi Alleges China Stopped Indian Patrols in Arunachal
Some important people in India and China are arguing about a big border between the two countries.
A leader named Rahul Gandhi says that Chinese soldiers are stopping Indian soldiers from walking and checking their own land in a place called Arunachal Pradesh.
He thinks the Indian government is trying to keep this a secret.
The Congress party also says China is building many new villages near India's border.
The Indian government has not said anything about the claim yet.
A group that talks to other countries said keeping the border peaceful is very important.
China says things at the border are mostly calm and does not want to talk about the reports.
Rahul Gandhi wants India's Prime Minister to talk to the people about it.
He also wants the Prime Minister to speak to China's President, who is coming to India next month.
Not everyone agrees about what is happening at the border.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged that China has stopped Indian troops from patrolling certain areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh and accused the government of trying to hide it.
There was no official confirmation of the development; the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said border matters with China are 'most serious' and peace along the LAC is of 'utmost importance'.
China said on Wednesday that the situation along the Sino-India border is 'generally stable at the moment' and declined to comment on reports of stepped-up military activity near the Arunachal Pradesh border.
The Congress's Foreign Affairs department, led by Salman Khurshid, said China had denied India access to patrolling points in Taksing and cited China building 628 Xiaokang 'well-off villages' at India's borders.
Congress demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi address the nation, dispatch a multi-party delegation, and raise the issue with President Xi Jinping, who is due to visit India next month.
