Bay of Bengal Depression Brings Heavy Rain to Jharkhand

Bay of Bengal Depression Brings Heavy Rain to Jharkhand

A strong weather system over the Bay of Bengal has caused heavy rain in Jharkhand.

The rain and wind have lasted for about four days.

Some trees fell on roads and vehicles in Ranchi.

A bridge in Khunti district was also damaged.

Bad visibility caused four flights to miss their planned landings at Ranchi airport.

Schools were closed in several districts to help keep children safe.

The rain has helped reduce the state’s shortage of monsoon rainfall.

More rain and thunderstorms may continue through September 27, but the weather is expected to improve from September 28.
