Delhi Police File Four FIRs, Arrest 17 After Protest

A group of people protested outside a police station in Delhi.

They wanted police to take action over an allegation that an assistant police commissioner sexually assaulted a journalist.

Police said the gathering was not allowed at that time and registered four cases.

Police arrested 17 people and accused some of obstructing and injuring officers and damaging a bus.

A security force constable said a protester cut his hand with a knife.

The four women who were arrested were released on bail.

The 13 men were held in judicial custody for one day.

Separately, police said the sexual assault allegation had been sent to the Crime Branch for an inquiry, but no FIR had been filed in that matter.
