Maharashtra Revamps Housing Policy for Online Flat Allotment
The Maharashtra government has decided to use the internet to give out government flats in Mumbai.
This is to make the process faster and clearer.
Now, people who want a flat will apply online and get updates by SMS or email.
They have to confirm if they want the flat within five days, or it will go to the next person.
The government believes this new system will help people get flats more quickly and fairly.
Those who had already applied in the old way will also need to register online, but they will keep their place in the waiting list.
