Nizam's grandson condemns BJP MP's remarks

Nizam's grandson condemns BJP MP's remarks

Nawab Najaf Ali Khan, the grandson of the seventh Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan, recently condemned the remarks made by BJP MP D. Arvind.

The MP suggested renaming Nizamabad district to Indur, claiming it was the original name.

Najaf Ali Khan found these remarks highly objectionable and condemned them, stating that the proposal to rename the district is a separate administrative matter.

He defended Nizam VII's legacy, highlighting his contributions to governance, infrastructure, education, health, and social harmony.

The Nizam is remembered as one of the most secular rulers in Indian history.

Najaf Ali Khan also mentioned that during Nizam VII's reign, Nizamabad was transformed into a major agricultural and industrial centre.

He argued that any deterioration of these assets is the responsibility of successive governments, not historical benefactors.

The BJP MP expressed confidence in securing a majority in the upcoming civic body polls in Nizamabad and changing the district's name.
