Gujarat Builds Semiconductor Ecosystem During Five Years Of Patel Government

Gujarat has been working to become an important place for making computer chips.

The state says companies have committed more than US$13.66 billion to semiconductor projects.

Six of India’s 12 approved chip projects are located there.

Sanand already has factories that assemble, test and package memory chips and other semiconductor products.

Dholera is becoming another major centre, with Tata Electronics building a chip factory.

Gujarat is offering companies financial help, cheaper land and lower electricity costs.

Schools and research centres are also training people for semiconductor jobs.

The government says these efforts support India’s goal of building a reliable chip supply chain.
