Centre Delays FCRA Bill Amid Delimitation Support Push

In India, there is a big building called Parliament where leaders make laws.

The government wanted to change a law called the FCRA, which controls money that comes into the country from other countries.

Many political parties did not like this new change and asked the government to discuss it more carefully.

Now, the government has not placed the bill on the agenda for the last week of the session.

Some people think the government is waiting on purpose.

They believe the government wants help from the DMK and NCP(SP) parties on a different, bigger issue called delimitation.

Delimitation is about redrawing the election area maps for choosing members of Parliament.

Southern states like Tamil Nadu worry this could reduce their importance in Parliament.

Party leaders like Supriya Sule and Tiruchi Siva want the bill studied by a special committee first.

So the delay may be part of a bigger political deal.
