CBI Files RG Kar Probe Status Report, Seeks More Time
A doctor who worked at a hospital was hurt and killed.
A special team of investigators called the CBI is looking into what happened.

The CBI submitted a status report on its probe into the rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital before a division bench of the high court on Thursday.
The agency's new special investigation team, which took over the probe after July 7, said it requires more time to investigate the case.
The bench of Justices Shampa Sarkar and Tirthankar Ghosh noted 'lacunae and inconsistencies' in the previous investigation and asked how much more time the CBI needed to deliver justice.
The CBI counsel said the SIT has recorded the statements of several witnesses, including those of the slain doctor's parents.
The court had directed the agency to re-examine the crime scene and reconstruct events from the doctor's dinner on the night of August 8, 2024 to her cremation the following evening; her family urged scrutiny of colleagues and Trinamool leaders over the expedited cremation.
