Gambhir Defends Flexible Batting Order
Gautam Gambhir, the coach of the Indian cricket team, said that having a fixed batting order is not very important in shorter cricket games like ODIs and T20s.
He thinks only the opening batsmen should have fixed positions.
Gambhir gave the example of Washington Sundar, who has batted at different positions and done well.
He also said that dew (moisture on the ground) affected the ODI series but might not be a big factor in the upcoming T20 matches.
India won the ODI series against South Africa 2-1 and is now preparing for a T20 series.
Gautam Gambhir stated that batting order is overrated in white-ball cricket except for the opening combination.
He defended his policy of shuffling players, citing Washington Sundar's versatility as an example.
Gambhir acknowledged that dew played a significant role in the ODI series outcomes.
He believes dew will have less impact on the upcoming T20I series.
