India's Efforts in Wildlife Protection and Naval Strengthening
India is facing a big problem with elephants dying because of train accidents.
Many elephants are killed every year when they cross train tracks.
The government is trying to fix this by using special technology and building safe places for elephants to cross.
At the same time, the Indian Navy is getting new helicopters called Seahawk to help them find and fight submarines better.
These helicopters can also help in rescue missions and carrying supplies.
The Navy is very happy because these new helicopters will make them stronger and better at protecting the country's waters.
Train-elephant collisions are a major cause of elephant mortality in India, with 186 deaths between 2010 and 2020.
Reforms to strengthen wildlife protection include designing infrastructure to avoid elephant habitats and constructing well-designed wildlife crossing structures.
The Indian Navy has inducted its second MH-60R Seahawk helicopter squadron, named 'Ospreys', to enhance anti-submarine warfare and maritime surveillance capabilities.
The Seahawk helicopters can operate from shore bases and maritime assets, and are equipped with advanced sensors and systems for various missions.
The induction of Seahawk helicopters coincides with the 75th anniversary of the Fleet Air Arm's formation in the Indian Navy.
