NSE, BSE To Remain Open For Raksha Bandhan 2026
India’s main stock exchanges will be open on Raksha Bandhan in 2026.
Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on 28 August.
They will also be open on Eid-e-Milad, which falls on 26 August.
Some banks will have holidays around these festivals, but stock trading will continue.
The next exchange holiday is Ganesh Chaturthi on 14 September.
The commodity exchanges are also expected to operate on 26 and 28 August.
The exchanges will hold a special Muhurat Trading session on 8 November, even though that date is a Sunday.
The exact time for that special session will be announced later.
The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) will remain open on Raksha Bandhan, 28 August 2026.
Eid-e-Milad on 26 August will also not be a trading holiday for the BSE or NSE.
The next scheduled BSE and NSE holiday is Ganesh Chaturthi on 14 September 2026.
The 2026 stock-market calendar includes 16 trading holidays, apart from regular Saturday and Sunday closures.
The Multi Commodity Exchange of India and National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited are scheduled to operate normally on 26 and 28 August.
