IRCTC Mandates Aadhaar Verification for Tatkal Bookings
Starting July 2025, to book Tatkal train tickets on IRCTC, you'll need to prove who you are with your Aadhaar card.
This means linking your Aadhaar to your IRCTC account and then using an OTP (a code sent to your phone) for verification.
If you haven't linked your Aadhaar, you'll need to enter your Aadhaar number and the name on your Aadhaar card, and then confirm with an OTP.
This is being done to make booking tickets safer and easier, with an extra layer of security for online ticket reservations by using OTP.
IRCTC to mandate Aadhaar authentication for Tatkal ticket bookings by July 1, 2025.
Aadhaar-based OTP will be required for all online train ticket reservations from July 15, 2025.
Users must authenticate Aadhaar details in their IRCTC accounts to ensure smooth Tatkal booking.
