Security forces have increased their presence across Jammu and Kashmir.

This happened after an encounter in which Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Hashim Moosa was killed.

More checkpoints and security vehicles have been placed on roads.

Police are also patrolling more often in the Kashmir Valley.

Katra has received extra security because Navratri is approaching.

Many people are expected to visit the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine during the festivities.

Police reviewed safety plans for the town, pilgrimage route and parking areas.

The goal is to monitor people and vehicles and help keep pilgrims safe.
